Tasmanian Government’s Peak Oil Study

Announcing this $250,000 study in 2010, Minister McKim said that it is vital Tasmania prepares for when the supply and price of oil are less certain than they are today. However, the study, now well underway, has been renamed the “Tasmanian Oil Price Vulnerability Study”. It seems very likely that the study will consider only the price of oil, not its availability. Peak Oil versus Climate Change

Question: Which is more serious: climate change or peak oil? Some say it’s peak oil, because that issue will impact much sooner – especially on the poor. Others say it is climate change because we are threatening to take the planet’s climate system beyond the tipping point, and then everyone will suffer. Clearly there is no right answer.
